Fresno County’s Diverse Harvest – Focus of UCCE Master Gardener September Event

Gardening education, the hallmark of the Master Gardeners, will be ongoing throughout the venue with a booth that will feature ways to preserve the harvest to enjoy long after wintry days have set in.  Learn tips on dehydrating, freezing and other methods of food preservation.  Seminars will include how to successfully grow blueberries and how to save seeds from your favorite tomato variety so you can enjoy them next year.

A friendly competition among Master Gardeners heats up at the salsa tasting booth. Cast a vote for your favorite hot and sweet and savory salsas. Other activities include a Master Gardener Fall Plant Sale, local nursery vendors with suggestions and plants for fall planting and other garden themed vendors.  The popular Master Gardener Repurpose store will feature gently-used garden items.  Master Gardener docents will be happy to answer your gardening questions as you enjoy the demonstration garden in fall.
