Taste of the Harvest 2011

Activities planned include sampling seasonal bounty of our local harvest specially prepared by your Master Gardener hosts, who will teach you how to prepare these nutritious foods for your family.   Sample a variety of sweet and hot salsas prepared by Master Gardeners and pick your favorites in this heated competition.  Seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables will be available to purchase. Taste available tomato varieties to help you choose for next year’s garden.

Stroll through the Garden of the Sun in early fall and learn about sustainable gardening practices, soil improvement, irrigation, composting, native plants and much more.  Master Gardeners will be on site to answer your gardening questions. 

Just in time for fall planting, shop for unusual plants provided by two local growers and the vendor area for decorative garden art.  Help us reduce, reuse and recycle when you shop in the Restore Garden Shop featuring gently-used garden-related items.

Admission price $5 for adults and $2 for children 6-12.  Children under 6 are free.
